Victor B. Lieberman is a Southeast Asian historian. He presently teaches as a Raoul Wallenberg Distinguished University Professor of History and Professor of Asian and Comparative History at the University of Michigan.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Victor B. Lieberman )〕 In 1984, he published a seminal work, ''Burmese Administrative Cycles: Anarchy and Conquest, c.1580-1760'', which has profoundly impacted scholarship the modern history of mainland Southeast Asia, through an analysis of alternating governance patterns in 16th to 18th century Burma.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Professor Victor Lieberman )〕 He began teaching at the University of Michigan in 1984. Lieberman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1967, graduating first in the class with summa cum laude distinctions.
